I have upgraded my OS from Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) to Windows 10 Home Version 1803 (this is my current Version of Windows 10). Today when I started my PC, I found that there is no sound on my PC. My IDT High Definition Audio CODEC Driver is not working. Please provide me solution to get back sound on my PC.

Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer, would be to see if installing this W10 IDT audio driver and restarting the PC, resolves the problem...

Thanks Paul for providing solution to install IDT Driver for Windows 10. I followed your instructions and after succeffully installing Driver I restarted my PC. But I regret to say that still there is no sound from the speakers of my PC. But I can clearly listen through headphones. Can you suggest another solution to resolve the speakers problem?

You're very welcome.
Sorry that driver didn't work for you.
The only other suggestion I can offer to at least get the sound to work would be this...
Go to the device manager and click to expand the Sound, video and game controllers device category.
1. Click on the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC under that category.
2. Click on the Driver tab.
3. Click the Update Driver button.
4. Click on > Browse my computer for driver software, and then at the bottom of that window...
5. Click on > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
6. Click on High Definition Audio Device (Not IDT High Def...this is important) and click Next.
A warning message may appear, but click Yes.
7. Windows has successfully updated your driver software.
8. Restart the PC.
The key is step 6.

Hello Paul,
Thanks for your reply to change driver from IDT to other Windows Driver. I followed all the steps pefectly and especially step 6 as you mentioned. But again I am sorry to say that this also didn't work. The speakers of my system are still not working. Could you please advice me what to do to start my system speakers again? Thoug for your information I can listen through headphones very well.

Sorry that didn't work either.
It might be a hardware issue where the circuit from the audio chip to the speakers has gone bad.
To rule out a hardware issue, I recommend you install W7 and see if you get the sound to work again.
The latest releases of W10 have been really hurting the PC's with the IDT audio.
I don't think you can trust reinstalling W10 to diagnose a hardware problem since it has known issues with the IDT audio on older PC's.
