Product: HP Spectre x360 - 13-aw0023dx

No audio device  is installed. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers but still have no device. I went through support assistant and I am getting a message that my speaker and microphone are unplugged. Any suggestions?

Audio Device does not start. See error message from Driver Properties | Events tab.

This solved my problem.

All the tips and suggestions I read and was given were pointing me to the wrong device drivers for my issue.  For me, it was the Intel Smart Sound Technology  (Intel (R) SST) OED, way way down the Device Manager list, under System Devices, which was displaying a tiny yellow warning triangle.  I updated that driver (it was found automatically) and my sound is back on.

I hope this will help someone else.
