No sound after reinstalling audio driver - M6-AR004DX

HP Recommended
Envy x360 15 (AMD)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had to reinstall my audio drivers. Since then, there's no sound coming from the speakers or through headphones.

I know that this is a driver problem, because if I hard reset the computer, sound works again.  However, simply uninstalling the audio drivers and reinstalling (with drivers from HP support site & as administrator) do not restore the sound.

Any help here? I really don't want to hard reset this computer but I would like to restore the sound.
