I ran updates & lost sound. I have done everything stated to solve the problem, but still no sound.

Do you have the lates 1809 version of Windows 10. Press WinKey + R and type winver

Is this the driver you have reinstalled:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-15-bs000-laptop-pc/15551412/model/1690...

updates were the ones required by HP.  Uninstalled/reinstalled.
