G60-549DX Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After allowing a Windows 10 update a week ago, my G60-549DX Notebook now has no sound. Any solution suggestions? I've run the "troubleshooter" and checked the information in Device Manager and am assured all is "working properly."

Hi:

If your notebook has 4 GB of memory, try this workaround...

A problem with the Conexant audio means that you may hear no sound in Windows 10 even though everything appears to be working correctly.

Microsoft suggests running msconfig.exe, and click on the Boot tab. Click the Advanced options button, check the Maximum memory box and set the value to 3072.

Then restart the PC.

Thank you SO much! Your instructions were easy to follow and right on the money. After a week of total frustration, this was so simple that it's almost hard to believe. Anyway, thanks again and know you're my hero.
