Hi,
Ever since I got this computer, i've been having non stop issues regarding the notebooks audio.
I first noticed these problems when using VoIP services (Such as discord, google hangouts etc). This includes microphone randomly not working after being in the call for some time, and my audio being disabled. It requires me to restart the computer to get my microphone and speakers working again. When this issue occurs, the microphone stops appearing in my device manager, but when I restart... it appears again? Also, on multiple occassions the sound has glitched and made an awful loud noise from the speakers, forcing me to shut it down to go off (As the volume adjuster doesn't turn it off).
I'm very concerned this is more of a hardware issue, as i've tested that all drivers are up to date, as well as windows 10 updates. I didn't think much of it at first, but since i've been using chats a bit more, I can't see myself having to deal with this long term, especially after paying £900. Does anyone else have this issue with the same model?
The model name is: HP ENVY 15-ee0000 x360 Convertible Laptop PC series
Thanks

Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer is for the microphone problem...
The microphone is part of the graphics system, not the audio system as one might expect, and a recent Windows update knocked out the microphone.
You should be able to fix the problem by running the AMD Auto-Detect and Install Radeon™ Graphics Drivers for Windows® utility at the top of the webpage below.
https://www.amd.com/en/support
Once the auto detect utility is installed, it will show an option to do a "Factory reset" which will delete, and reinstall all related graphics drivers (it will not remove any other program or app installed in your PC, or affect any of the already existing information). It just resets the graphics system.
I have given this solution to many other forum members who indicated it worked for them too.
Hopefully, HP will release an audio driver update to fix whatever audio issues that are occurring.
As of now, my x360 15-ee0047nr seems to be working fine other than that one microphone incident.

I tried this and it does not work same issues.. i locked up again then got a message on the computer saying it detected and issue and was fixing the problem. 1 minute later it was working again.. Weird!!! but i am sure it will crash again

I have the exact same problem. Very frustrating as I can't trust that I can get through important Zoom meetings without a problem happening.
I've just tired the AMD driver suggestion right before reading this thread. I was hoping it was going to help, but it sounds like you tried it and it didn't work.
Note that this is my 2nd laptop (same model). First one I didn't have ANY microphone showing up or working and now this second one is intermittently glitchy. Very frustrating.
Agreed. We need a fix for this!

My computer is less than 2 months old, and this also happened to me in 2 different platforms. First, the microphone wouldn't work so I switched to Google Meet. The microphone still wasn't working, so restarted everything, logged back in and it worked temporarily. Then there was the tremendous buzzing noise, not from the speakers. I had to restart the whole thing. I work in healthcare and this was during a visit, so NOT OK.
HP what are you doing about this?

I am so frustrated to have bought this laptop based on great reviews and to have the internal mic crash out on me every other meeting I have. The loud buzzing noise usually follows and I have to restart the computer and hopefully rejoin my meeting but only to view as I can't speak.
The only "fix" was when I went to the AMD site and downloaded the Radeon Graphics Drivers as that is what effects the internal mic and presumably the buzzing sound that keeps happening, but this only worked for 2 or 3 meetings before happening again.
This is compromising my job and I cannot afford to just go out and buy a new laptop. How long does it take for HP to take people serious and start fixing the issues? My boyfriend went to buy the same laptop and I told him to go with something else because this has been a nightmare.

Try out this method suggested here, I've used it and it has been working for several days with no issue.
The file for the driver should be sp105744.exe
