Hi @FEMOLASY,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To resolve the sound driver issue on your HP laptop, follow these steps.
Identify Your Laptop Model:
- Open the Device Manager by pressing Windows + X and selecting Device Manager.
- Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section to find your audio device.
Download the Driver:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Enter your laptop’s model number and navigate to the Drivers & Software section.
- Download the latest audio driver for your operating system.
Install the Driver:
- Run the downloaded driver file and follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
- Restart your laptop if prompted.
Update Drivers (If Necessary):
- If the issue persists, return to Device Manager, right-click on your audio device, and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software and let Windows find and install the driver.
Check Sound Settings:
- Right-click on the sound icon in the taskbar and select Open Sound settings.
- Ensure the correct output device is selected and that the volume is up.
If you have the serial number, you can share it here, and I might be able to guide you further!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
