I upgraded my computer HP Victus FA1008nt to SSD and formatted it, deleted the drivers and reinstalled them, I downloaded them from the original website but there is no sound from the computer speaker. No matter what I did it did not work. The icon is active and everything seems normal but there is no sound. When I plug in the previous SSD, I hear sound from the computer.

@Alperen21, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're experiencing a no sound issue after upgrading your HP Victus FA1008nt to an SSD and reinstalling Windows and drivers. Since the sound works with the previous SSD, the issue likely lies in the software or driver configuration on the new setup.
Here are some steps to help you resolve this:
Check Playback Device Settings
- Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select "Sounds".
- Go to the Playback tab.
- Ensure "Speakers / Realtek Audio" (or similar) is set as the default device.
- Click Configure and Test the speakers.
Reinstall Audio Drivers from HP
- Go to the HP Support Page for your model.
- Enter your product.
- Download and install the latest Realtek High Definition Audio Driver listed under Driver-Audio.
- Restart your PC after installation.
Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
- Press F2 repeatedly at startup to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.
- Select Component Tests > Audio.
- Run the test to check if the hardware is functioning properly.
Use HP Cloud Recovery Tool (if needed)
If the issue persists, consider using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool to restore your system to factory settings with all original drivers:
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support
This will ensure all HP-specific drivers and configurations are correctly applied.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I have been working on this issue for a long time and I am not an ordinary user. The advice you gave was the first method I used. The problem is that it conflicts with the drivers in Windows 24h2 version and it does not work stably. Whatever is in this version of Windows is not compatible with the Intel Smart Sound OED device. When I disable this device, the sound comes. An update is needed to fix this. If you have a solution suggestion for this, I would be very happy. If not, I would like this to be reported.

@Alperen21, Thanks for the detailed follow-up, your technical insight is very helpful. The issue you're facing with Intel Smart Sound Technology (SST) OED on Windows 11 24H2 is a known compatibility problem, especially with certain driver versions.
Root Cause
Microsoft and Intel have acknowledged that older Intel SST drivers (especially versions like 10.29.0.5152 or 10.30.0.5152) are incompatible with Windows 11 24H2, leading to audio failures, instability, or even BSODs.
Recommended Fixes
Option 1: Update to the Latest Intel SST Drivers
- Open Device Manager → Expand System Devices.
- Right-click Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST) Audio Controller → Properties → Driver tab.
- If your version is 10.29.x or 10.30.x, update it.
- Use the Intel Driver & Support Assistant to automatically detect and install the latest compatible drivers.
- Restart your PC.
Target versions: At least 10.30.00.5714 or 10.29.00.5714 are required to resolve most issues.
Option 2: Replace SST with High Definition Audio Controller
If updated drivers are unavailable or unstable:
- In Device Manager, right-click Intel SST Audio Controller → Update Driver.
- Choose Browse my computer for drivers → Let me pick from a list.
- Select High Definition Audio Controller.
- Reboot your system.
This workaround restores basic audio functionality and bypasses the SST conflict.
Option 3: Uninstall and Let Windows Reinstall
- In Device Manager > System Devices, uninstall both:
- Intel Smart Sound Technology Audio Controller
- Intel Smart Sound Technology OED (Check “Attempt to remove the driver”)
- Reboot your PC.
- Let Windows reinstall the default drivers.
I hope this helps!

I followed the steps you said, but currently my current driver version is "10.29. 0.11750" and I could not find a higher version on either Intel's website or HP's website. I also tried the assistant and it did not work either. I checked it. Is there a website or link you can recommend me?
