Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After replacing the GPU fan, I noticed that the bottom right speaker is not working. So, I remove it, and test it, and it works, so it's not the speaker driver itself, it's either some firmware or connection issue.

I tested it in the BIOS, and the issue is still present, so that rules out a Windows/Driver issue, so what is it? Again, the speaker itself works when I remove it and test it with an amplifier, meaning that there is no signal being sent to the speaker.

Thanks for your reply! Here's the info from System Information:

OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home

Version 10.0.19044 Build 19044

System Model HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-eb0043dx

System SKU 9GB29UA#ABA

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10510U CPU @ 1.80GHz, 2304 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)

BIOS Version/Date AMI F.11, 2/1/2021

Since I'm now just noticing that the BIOS is over a year out of date, I'm going to update the BIOS and see if that fixes the speaker output.

Hi there, i know it’s been over a month since I initially asked this question, but I have frequently been having issues with the right speaker again.. updating the bios didn’t work.

Is there anything else I can do?

Hello @jimmyl82104

This could be a <technical problem>. Speaker and cable should be checked and possibly replaced.

My options are exhausted...

Recommendation and solution

HP warranty valid -> Contact HP Support for service repair

HP warranty expired:

You should have it serviced by a professional notebook (chip level) repair store.

Kind regards
