This is the same problem originally mentioned in this November 2022 thread: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/HP-Pavilion-Laptop-PC-15-eg2000-Audio-and-touchpad-cann...
I am the IT technician for my company and my company had purchased this laptop. We do not support Windows 11 for our laptops, which is the OS that came installed, so I installed Windows 10 22H2 fresh onto the device. Install went fine and the device is fully updated, but there are -no- touchpad drivers, and the audio drivers are unable to see the speakers.
I have already performed all of the recommended troubleshooting from the previous thread, which I will copy here for convenience:
Step1: Run HP Support Assistant.
1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
You may also check the steps in the HP web document from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03467905
Step 2: Uninstall the Audio Drivers from the Device Manager.
1. Start Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Device Manager.
2. Expand the node Sound, video and game controllers. Right-click on each option inside it and select uninstall.
3. On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click the Delete the driver software for this device option to delete the driver package that was used for the device and click OK to start the uninstall process.
4. Restart the computer. This will reinstall the drivers.
Step 3: Uninstall and reinstall touchpad drivers:
1. Press Windows key + X, and select Device Manager.
2. Click to expand Mice and other pointing devices.
3. Right-click the touchpad and click uninstall.
4. Restart your device and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.
As mentioned in the previous thread, it appears that the HP driver listing does not include Windows 10 as an option. Please let me know if this model does not support Windows 10 so I can stop wasting my time on it. For reference, my serial number is [Personal Information Removed]
