I have installed: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp148501-149000/sp148533.exe but the problem still persist.

sfc /scannow will always result in my computer's hang.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for choosing and using HP product and services.

Have you found a fix yet?

Had kind of the same issue. found out that their was some kind of authentication issue. Try the following:

open services with admin

go to "windows audio"

choose properties and select the second tab "login"

Mine had some kind of service account.

changed it to local systemaccount and the service kept working

This didn't work for me. The service started after changing the login to local system account, but the speaker are still mute even I change the volume to maximum level. This concerns also wired headphones, bluetooth headphones and other audio devices I connected. All are muted even with volume level on max.

I haven't.

But what I have found is when I disconnect the HP USB-C Dock G5 I can manually start the Windows Audio service, which then brings back all of my audio via USB headset, Bluetooth and Laptop Speaker.

Thank you for very quick feedback!

You are right, the notebook audio does not work when connected to HP dock only.I also use USB-C Dock G5.

After diconnecting from dock and running the Audiosrv using Local Services Login the audio works well with all wired and wireless devices.

Will take a look on Dock G5 drivers if these could be the culprit.

Thank you!

I have the same issue as Petr, but with a Procord dockingstation.

@AlexNijs,

Does the audio issue disappear when the HP laptop is removed from the docking station?

Thank you for choosing and using HP product and services.
HP Recommended

Yes then the problem is gone.

Already got the latest displaylink drivers.
