I'm the Riddle_Decipher & I'm writing on behalf of my colleague @KrazyToad, as the tech is out for the day, that said, I have reviewed your concern and the entire conversation, did some research and here's what I recommend:

Yes, please go ahead and use the link provided by KT, and I'm glad you've got the BIOS Updated too,

That said, I just wanted to let you know that the most updated driver could just be until May 10th, as there aren't any more releases made after that, so that's normal, I recommend you try the below steps if none of the above worked, though KT seems to have done his best:

  1. Go to Windows Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers section.
  2. In the list of audio device drivers, look for Realtek High Definition Audio. This is the device driver for BeatsAudio (a little bit sneaky, wouldn’t you say?).
  3. Right-click and select Disable. The downward arrow displays on this driver, indicating it is disabled. (NOTE: At this point, you won’t be able to play any music files.)
  4. Right-click and select Update Driver Software.
  5. Select Browse my computer for driver software.
  6. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
  7. You should see a window that says Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware. NOTE: If you see a window that says something like This is the best driver for this device, exit the window and repeat steps 4, 5, and 6.
  8. In the Model box, highlight High Definition Audio Device (this is the substitute audio device driver) and click Next.
  9. At the Update Driver Warning window, click Yes. You should see a confirmation window with High Definition Audio Device displayed. Click Close.
  10. In the list of audio device drivers in the Sound, video and game controllers section, you’ll notice that the High Definition Audio Device now displays instead of Realtek High Definition Audio.
  11. At the prompt to reboot, click Yes.
  12. Enjoy your music now with no compression & louder.

@Riddle_DecipherHi Riddle.

I can't be reading this correctly. I wrote in my prior messages that I don't have Beats Audio, and I definitely don't have Realtek. I have Coexant ISST and Intel Display Audio. Those are the only two my computer came with.

So before I go ahead and use that link that will supposedly update the B&O (I think!), I thought you needed to know that.

This is crazy! That link you gave me is for Realtek drivers.  I've explained mutliple times that I do not have Beats Audio or Realtek Audio, that I do have Coexant ISST and Intel Display Audio.

I asked about that, and you told me to go ahead and install it. I was led to believe that was the B&O link I needed. I saw that it was REALTEK when I went to install it and canceled it immediately.

Why are you giving me drivers to install that don't go with my system? Am I missing something here?

@loriem

Welcome back!

I understand you need your questions answered,

I'm not sure if you've noticed, however, I'm not the same person who provided the links!

I only suggested you disable the generic audio drivers, the steps aren't specific to your model but are generic windows steps to help resolve audio compression issues with B&o playback, so you can replace Realtek with Conexant and work with it accordingly as it's designed to resolve the issue.

Also, I believe those drivers were sent in error, or because he couldn't find updated drivers for Conexant to help you, I wouldn't know as he's out for the day, although, I'll be sure to ask him when he's back, meanwhile, I suggest you try those steps as the same has helped many others.

Keep me posted, and I hope that answers your query,

If it did, simply select "Accept as solution", to help the community grow,

@Riddle_DecipherWith all due respect, I find it hard to believe you wouldn't read the prior comments before offering help. In those, even the last one I wrote before you wrote to me, mentioned what drivers I had.

I am at a loss right now. So is what you're saying to disable my present audio drives and then download the Realtek? Because if I'm not mistaken, you said that link was sent in error. So this whole reply is confusing to me.

Thank you for responding,

let me rephrase, here's what you need to do:

  1. Go to Windows Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers section.

  3. This is the device driver for B&o play,
  4. Right-click and select Disable. The downward arrow displays on this driver, indicating it is disabled. (NOTE: At this point, you won’t be able to play any music files.)

This is not working. I have disabled BOTH now and the only options are the drivers I already have. I can't get to the one you gave me.

Can't I just click on that and install it?

Giving up. Tried to disable both. Installed that link. Rebooted and it didn't exist in Device Manager. It also seems to stop me from getting Internet. What is up with that? I enabled my old audio and rebooted and everything was fine.

Oddly, even though I rebooted to install Realtek, it didn't show anywhere.

And I just looked under Add or Remove Programs and it's there.

Did a search for it, just gives me results on the web.

@loriem

Thank you for not giving up,

I had been working with the R&D team to sort this out for you,

And here's what we need to do:

  1. From the Windows desktop, use the Start Menu to search for Sound. Open the result associated with the Control Panel.
  2. Select your primary speaker or headphone output from the list.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. Select the Enhancements tab at the top of the window.
  5. Check the box labeled Loudness Equalization.
  6. Click Apply to save your change and then OK to close the window.

If the issue persists, run the audio troubleshooter from Windows:

  • For help fixing audio or sound problems, try the audio troubleshooter. It might be able to fix audio problems automatically.
  • To run the troubleshooter, select the Start button, type audio troubleshooter, and then select Find and fix audio playback problems from the list of results and select Next.

Check out the windows article to resolve sound issues within Windows: Click here

If it did, simply select "Accept as solution", to help the community grow,

Have a great day ahead.
