Hi:

 

The notebook only had driver support for Windows XP.

 

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the XP driver.

 

HP offers two drivers for the audio:

 

Conexant CX20468-31 AC97 Audio Driver EQ

 

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp28001-28500/sp28482.exe 

 

Conexant CX20468-31 AC97 Audio driver

 

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp29001-29500/sp29483.exe 

 

Manually install the driver if the auto install method doesn't work.
