Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The bottom right speaker (under laptop) makes a really high pitched sound. It's not something minimal but a deafening soung, With the noise the laptop also has a slight vibration in the area. it starts randomely while using the laptop, and doesn't stop even by muting the sound.

if further detail is needed, do ask. i would really appreciate any help and even a temporary fix in the probable case it's a hardware malfunction

Please do a clean install Audio softeware/driver first, this should help.

(a) Download the following driver and save on your computer,

            https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp92501-93000/sp92525.exe

(b) Go to Device Manager, Sound to uninstall sound driver and reboot,
(c) Right click downloaded file and select Run as administrator,
(d) Reboot again.

Regards.

Ultra loud, high pitched whine from the right speaker.  Installed the updated driver, no help.  Impossible to use sound on this laptop.

Had the same problem. Updated BIOS via HP Support Assistant and problem resolved.
