To protect my privacy I cover the microphone holes and camera when not in use. Yesterday, making a Skype call, I forgot to take the mike covers away and I discovered that my voice is still recorded even with the mike holes covered. So there is another microphone somewhere that I did not find in the manual. Where is it ?

@A3S Here's what I need to get your information from the product guide:

Note: Please ensure the complete product name/number for a quicker response from the community, as we need to know what we are dealing with to provide an accurate solution:

Remember: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Meanwhile, here's something you should know:

the sensitivity of the mic, just covering it won't work all that well, as it would still work, in most cases, perhaps, you can tell us if that cover ever worked for you? or if it worked on another device? Keep me posted.

so on the one hand you need the specs of my product that already figure in my question. then secondary you try to tell me that covering the mike does not help. What the heck do I need you for ?

@A3S I believe there's some clarification in order, I need your product specifications to understand how many microphone you've got on the device, as it depends on the model of the laptop, that said, in general, covering the microphone hole may not be the answer as it would not stop recording, instead you can make use of the privacy settings on the device to turn it off when not in use, and to get your accurate steps to help you with it, guess what I need? Your product name/model name as requested earlier.

If you aren't satisfied with that explanation or you don't want to provide the details, I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,
