HI! My notebook has a 2-in-1 combo jack (headphones and mic in) and i recently bought a new external microphone with a 3.5mm jack, however when I try to use it with my notebook it acts like an audio-out device instead, and doesn't show up anwhere under my audio device management settings.
How can I use this external mic without buying a splitter?

Forget it, I just bought a mic/headphone splitter cable. Here's to hoping that works, cus I spent a little over an hour on the phone with tech support only to have them tell me "This is not something they train us on. I'm going to transfer you to a department that can help you. OH BTW THAT'S GONNA BE A $99.99 CALL!"
So, in short, I'll let you know if the splitter works or not.
