Hi @Nandish_BM

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining that—let’s get your mic working again so you’re not stuck in silent mode. 🎙️ Here’s a step-by-step guide tailored for your HP laptop running Windows 11:

🛠️ Fixes for Microphone Not Working on HP Laptop (Windows 11)

1. Check Privacy Settings

  • Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone
  • Make sure Microphone access is turned on
  • Ensure apps like Zoom, Teams, or Chrome have permission to use the mic

2. Set the Correct Input Device

  • Go to Settings → System → Sound
  • Under Input, select your internal microphone
  • Click Device Properties and check volume levels

3. Run the Audio Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters
  • Run the Recording Audio troubleshooter

4. Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers

  • Open Device Manager
  • Expand Audio inputs and outputs
  • Right-click your microphone → Update driver
  • If that doesn’t help, choose Uninstall device, then restart your laptop

5. Check Sound Control Panel

  • Press Windows + R, type mmsys.cpl, and hit Enter
  • Go to the Recording tab
  • Right-click in the window → Show Disabled Devices
  • Enable your microphone and set it as Default

If you’ve tried these and it’s still not working, let me know what you see under “Input” in Sound Settings—I’ll help you dig deeper. You’ve got this! 💪😄
