I have had this problem and had installed the said drivers.

I tried it again today after reading this page again, and it is now working.

Thank you.

Those drivers worked for me too. Thank you very much!

Update: I just went through the support pages to see if there were any later drivers for my laptop and it can an even earlier (2015) version so not impressed with that side of things

Hello.

Yesterday when I did the realtek audio un-install/re-install, the light worked fine.

I have just tried it again today and now it is not working again. What is wrong with this? Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. It seems to have a mind of its own and chooses when it wants to light up.

Can someone please help me so I do not have to constantly un-install and re-install my audio drives to make the light work?

Thank you.

I think that what happens is something like this:-

1. The audio light is working
2. A Windows update changes the way things work and the light stops working.

3. Drivers are reinstalled

4. The audio light starts working again

5. A Windows update changes......

Certainly when my audio light stopped working last time something else had also changed on my machine because the task bar didn't load properly and I had to reboot.

This seems to happen everytime you restart wndows.

Rather than re-installing drivers (having got the light to work using the latest driver package, then have it fail again)) I found in a different thread on the forum the solution of just disabling Realtek Audio from device manager and then enabling it again gets the light working again.

Thank you so much!!! this worked for me!!!! was a bit skeptical at first with the uninstalling but I gave it a try and after downloading the one in the solution, I restarted the laptop and BOOM it worked! So happy! I created this account just to be able to reply to say it worked! thanks again!

This fix worked and many thanks. I tried the Virtual Agent but it could not understand the simple statement...Audio Mute Light is not working.

Stopped working after I installed the "Dolby Atmos" app/extension. Did as instructed, works as described. Thank you.

The light on my mute button works after some windows 10 updates and then quits working after others.  After KB4489868 it again quit working.  Uninstalled KB4489868 and the mute light now works like it should.  Why does Microsoft have to screw around with things totally unrelated to windows security?
