@bernand, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your audio output isn't working on your HP PC running Windows 10 (64-bit), here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check Audio Output Device
- Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select "Open Sound settings."
- Under Output, ensure the correct playback device (e.g., "Speakers – Realtek") is selected.
- If unsure, try switching between available devices.
Restart Audio Services
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Scroll down and find Windows Audio.
- Right-click it and choose Restart.
- Do the same for Windows Audio Endpoint Builder.
Run HP Support Assistant
HP Support Assistant can automatically detect and fix audio issues:
- Download or open it from here: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
- Go to Troubleshooting and Fixes > Audio Check and follow the prompts.
Use Windows Troubleshooter
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Click Additional troubleshooters.
- Select Playing Audio and run the troubleshooter.
Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek) and choose Update driver.
- If that doesn’t help, right-click again and choose Uninstall device, then restart your PC. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
Alternatively, you can download the latest drivers from the HP Software and Driver Downloads page. Official HP® Support
Check for Windows Updates
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any available updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
