OK ~ So I uninstalled the IDT driver and then rebooted. This resolved the headset mic "CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE" status and returned it to normal operational functions; but now the IDT stereo mix (under recording tab) has changed to "CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE" ?
There is still lots of echo/reverb?

I have an HP Pavilion Windows 10 laptop. Last night, the internal microphone (the only mic I have) stopped working. I have checked all the drivers and tried rebooting, power cycling, and setting all three of the Recording devices (all came with the system when I bought it a year ago) to default without success. I cannot be heard on Skype or battle.net.
I ran the trouble shooter and it reports that the Mic in at front panel (black) is not plugged in; until running trouble shooter that device was enabled and green. That had been both the default device and the only mic I knew of. I didn't unplug it. How do I fix it? FWIW, the computer is under extended warranty from Costco.
