playing a cd

I am new to a pavilion g6 and have just got around to try and play cd, this might be a silly ? but when I open my tray to put in the cd there is a black piece in the middle which I thought the cd fitted over but it is not completely round it is shaped, does the cd just fit on top I am worried if does not go onto the centre piece and I shut the tray the cd might get stuck. Any one help a novice.

Hi,

The disc should be clicked into place on the central spindle - see the video below.

I can't find the tutorial on how to play a cd.  I put it in but don't know what to do after that

I load the cd and it doesn't load to play on the screen. I had a recovery a few days ago but before that that the cd worked

It seems like the CD hole is just too small for the player.
