unusually loud audio

This issue happened right after I got up this morning. the audio slider has no affect on the speakers and they only output at their loudest possible. it isn't any audio driver as headphones work normally and only the speakers don't work.

- Expand <Sound, video and game controllers>

I can control its overall sound but cant adjust without using the application.
