Hi @Jan1234321,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

If you're experiencing issues with the volume control on your HP device not working properly, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check Volume Settings

  • Ensure that the volume is not muted and is set to an audible level.
  • Click on the volume icon in the taskbar (usually at the bottom right corner) and check the slider position.

Restart the Device

  • Sometimes, simply restarting your device can resolve audio issues.

Update Audio Drivers:

  • Go to Device Manager (right-click on the Start menu and select it).
  • Expand the Sound, video, and game controllers section.
  • Right-click your audio device and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Roll Back Audio Drivers:

  • If the issue started after a driver update, you can try rolling back to the previous version.
  • In the Device Manager, right-click on your audio device and select Properties.
  • Go to the Driver tab and click Roll Back Driver if the option is available.

Check Audio Output Device:

  • Ensure the correct audio output device is set.
  • Click the volume icon and expand the output device list to select the appropriate device.

Run the Audio Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > System > Sound.
  • Scroll down and click Troubleshoot under the Output section. Follow the prompts.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Sometimes, an update might resolve known issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Take care and have an amazing day!
