@bobhol, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It seems you're experiencing issues with your HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c0000 even after replacing the power supply and battery. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve the issue:

Step 1: Verify Power Supply

  • Check the AC Adapter: Ensure that you're using the correct AC adapter for your laptop model. Verify that all connections are secure and not damaged.
  • Test the Outlet: Plug the AC adapter into another wall outlet to rule out an issue with the power source.

Step 2: Perform a Hard Reset

A hard reset can help clear any residual power and reset hardware connections.

  1. Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery (if it is removable).
  2. Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  3. Reconnect the AC adapter and the battery, then try to turn on the laptop.

Step 3: Test AC Adapter using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics

If the laptop starts, you can use HP's diagnostic tool to test the AC adapter:

  1. Search for and open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics in Windows.
  2. Select Device Check and then Power from the dropdown menu.
  3. Choose AC Adapter test and click Run selected tests.
  4. Review the test results. If the AC adapter passes, it is likely functioning correctly.

Step 4: Inspect Hardware

  • Battery Check: For laptops with a removable battery, ensure that the battery contacts are clean and not damaged.
  • Inspect Connections: Verify that there are no loose connections or damaged pins in the battery compartment.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
