For me the following buttons did something:

 

Alt + F2

 

Brought up some HP system tool, which would allow me to update firmware and perform hardware diagnosis.

 

Alt + F10

 

Brought up BIOS.

 

Note however, that at this stage the "fn" key is not working yet and keyboard layouts having the F keys as secondary options will not work as it says on the keys. Instead you just do not press "fn" and act as if the F keys are the first option on that key. Just ignore the fact that it says F10 is a secondary option on the key.
