My laptop is displaying a black screen with a Battery Alert message 601 at startup. HP Support Assistant and HP support page suggests running a battery calibration by entering system diagnostics at startup. The process is to unplug the laptop, shut down the unit, start the laptop and press the escape key repeatedly immediately then F2 to enter system diagnostics.
When I try this, even pressing the esc key , the screen goes directly to the black screen 601 battery message. I am not able to get into system diagnostics.
Thanks, paulfx
