Hi @Kingme2025,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you've forgotten the administrator password on your HP laptop running Windows 11, here are your options depending on how your account is set up:

If You Use a Microsoft Account (Most Common)

If your admin account is linked to a Microsoft account (email address), you can reset the password online:

  1. Go to Recover your account
  2. Follow the prompts to reset your Microsoft account password.
  3. Once reset, use the new password to log in.

If You Use a Local Account (Not Linked to Microsoft)

If it's a local admin account (no email address shown on the login screen), try the following:

Option 1: Use Another Admin Account

  • If another admin account exists, log in to it.
  • Go to Settings > Accounts > Other users.
  • Select your account and click Change account type or Reset password.

Option 2: Use Password Reset Disk (if created)

  • Insert the reset disk and follow the on-screen instructions.

Option 3: Boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt (Advanced)

If no other admin account is available and you don’t have a reset disk, you may need to:

  • Boot into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).
  • Use Command Prompt to enable the hidden Administrator account.
  • Reset your password from there.

⚠️ This method is advanced and may require bootable media. Let me know if you'd like step-by-step help with this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
