BIOS Setup Password Shows IsSet = 1, but I Don't Know the Password

Hi everyone,

I am trying to resolve an issue with the BIOS/UEFI setup password on my system. The BIOS setup password status shows IsSet = 1, which indicates that a setup password is configured, but I do not know the password.

I have legitimate access to the system and need to access the BIOS/UEFI settings.

Could someone please help me understand:

  1. What does IsSet = 1 mean?
  2. Is there a supported method to reset or remove the BIOS setup password?
  3. Does the manufacturer provide a recovery procedure for this situation?
  4. What system information should I provide, such as the manufacturer, model, BIOS version, or service tag?

I am looking for a safe and manufacturer-supported solution.

Thank you for your help.
