Hi,

There is the only one way to recover your BIOS which is performed by you already!!!

Try reinstalling the CMOS battery and follow recovery steps again. [this will void your warranty, Do not follow this guide If your notebook is under warranty.]

Contact HP service center for BIOS recovery.

I did go to a service centre and the ended up replacing the mother board, and the advice from the engineer "Dont update the BIOS of this particular model, the version on the company website will brick your BIOS again". I mean why do they even have that update on the product page if it bricks the system, thank god I had a warranty otherwise I would have had to pay for whole motherboard.

Hi,

HP is correct on their side to provide bios update for your notebook. In some cases, some notebook sub-series or some models from specific lot may have some manufacturing defects or not support the bios update at all. Don't worry your notebook will work fine but you can't update the bios. This is a quite normal thing with electronics.
