Hello Wizards,

I have old laptopHP Pavillion Notebook 15-n223eo

This used to hace Windows 8.1 , but upgrated to W10-64bit.

But still BIOS information says orginal software W8.1

Also RAM updated 8GB -> 16GB and that also says GB

Does laptop still use 16GB Ram and why information have not updated ?

Thanks for getting Me updated

Hi:

I don't know why the BIOS is indicating 16 GB of memory unless that is also hard coded like the Operating System.

The reason it indicates W8.1 is that is what the notebook came with and what the product key that is stored in the BIOS is for.

When you install Windows, it should indicate 16 GB of memory and W10, but it will show a digital license for W10.

After you install Windows, download and install the free Showkey Plus app from the Microsoft Store and it will show you the Windows OEM product key in the BIOS and the W10 digital key.

I saw in your other post regarding how to update the BIOS outside of Windows, that the BIOS version you have installed is F.17.

There is a newer version, F.20 for which I have posted the info and exe file links below:

Below are the info and exe file links to the latest BIOS update I could find for the 15-n2xx notebooks with AMD processors (F.20):

Watch these videos for how to create and use a USB BIOS recovery flash drive with the BIOS update file I posted above.
