HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 (2D118AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Product number: 50V75UA#ABA
The device was working normally. During routine maintenance, I disconnected the internal battery (without opening or modifying any other component). When I reconnected it, the laptop displayed the message "CMOS checksum is invalid, CMOS Reset (502)." After restarting and pressing Enter as instructed on screen, the system restored the CMOS to default settings, but from that point on the device began asking for a BIOS/Supervisor password that I never set and have no knowledge of.
I didn't want to try these "unlockers" cause I believe that I should get a real solution to this problem, but when trying to contact support, they send me to virtual assistant and virtual assistant sends me to """support""
I need help

Hi @Sunnit,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thank you for providing the product number. The CMOS Reset (502) message you received after disconnecting the internal battery indicates that the BIOS/CMOS settings were reset. However, a BIOS/supervisor password appearing afterward is a separate security setting and should not be treated as something that can be removed using third-party “unlocker” tools.

I would recommend not attempting any further CMOS-battery removal, password generators, or unofficial BIOS modifications. Those methods can create additional firmware or security issues.

We recommend visiting an authorized HP service center. Our certified technicians can provide a thorough diagnosis and offer the best solutions to address the issue.
