My HP 350 G1 F7Y65EA#ABU laptop has Linux Lubuntu 24.04 LTS installed I need to update (flash) the BIOS to correct a fault where the screen boots to a blank white screen.

When I try to select a BIOS download from your website I can only select a Windows operating system which I do not have.

Please help.

What you will need to do is to run the latest BIOS update (I'm assuming that F.16 is the one you want) on another PC running Windows.

When you run the file, you will get the option to create a bootable BIOS recovery drive that should update the BIOS without the need to have Windows installed on the notebook.

Thank you for your fast reply. I have used a Windows laptop to download the BIOS update but I am getting stuck at selecting the second option  Create Recovery USB flash drive (pre selected) as the next button is greyed out and does nothing.

You're very welcome.

That's interesting...I got the same result too when I ran the file.

I've never had that issue before.

I downloaded the previous version (F.12) as well, and it did the same thing.

Since I assume you can't see anything on the screen, you can't even install Windows in order to update the BIOS.

It might be possible for me to use the FreeDOS operating system to access the BIOS for updating.

I assume I will still have to use Windows to download the bios executable file again.

You can use the free 7-Zip file utility to extract the file into its folder and then explore the files in the folder.

I have created the bootable USB drive & added the BIOS exe file as per option 6 of

I get an error (This file can not be run in DOS mode). Please help

I have swapped my Linux SSD for a Windows 10 HDD. After adding my laptop details and selecting Windows 10 64bit to the software and drivers tab in HP Support no BIOS updates are provided. Is this because the 350 G1 has sure start installed? The laptop currently has F12 BIOS installed. The F16 update you suggested is for Windows 7 and 8.1. I don't understand why the BIOS has to be operating system compatible as my laptop originally had Windows before I installed Linux?
