Hello!

My ProBook 450 G5 behaves strangely (at least to me). When I charged the battery to 100 % and keep the power connector connected, the LED next to the DC barrel jack starts blinking white.

Sometimes the LED goes off for a few minutes and then blinks three time or it continues to blink endlessly.

The system (Windows, Drivers and BIOS) is up to date and I do not know when this started, but it was not there, when the laptop was brand new. The hardware tests in the BIOS tells me everything is OK.

I did not find this in the manual. Is this behavior normal or should I worry?

Best regards,

Cellcon

Here is an HP thread describing beep and blink codes for their laptops:

Thanks for your response, but I searched any LED documentation I could find, but the problem is not solved.

The LED does not blink in a specific pattern. But it is a steady blink not a random blinking, like I would expect from a defect barrel jack.

Also, I tested multiple power supplies, but the behaviour perisists.

The battery is fine - at least as far as the notebook self test can imagine.
