I have recently found a very old hp laptop and installed linux on it (which made it MUCH faster). I was wondering how I could update the bios. https://support.hp.com/hk-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-g61-400-notebook-pc-series/4074351/model/4125778 says that hp can't find drivers for my computer. It doesn't seem to be using uefi but I would be happy to switch to uefi if possible. In the bios, at the top of the screen, what I presume to be a version says: InsydeH20 Rev 3.5. Thanks in advance!

A very old laptop most likely does not have UEFI.
Since you are running Linux, you will need to use a bootable FreeDOS USB flash drive.
Once you create that USB flash drive, you will need PHLASH16.exe and the BIOS.WPH file
To get the BIOS.WPH file you will need to use a Windows PC to run sp48895.exe which will create a directory with all the files needed to update the BIOS in Windows.
