Why can not I update Bios from my note?
I tried to update my F.65 bios to F.69 through the hp website (see link in my replay below), but it is not correct and I lose the previous bios. Is there any other way to do the update without losing the previous one? Why are my 2 envy notes unable to complete the bios update? Also after the rewrite of the bios for the F.65 the initialization of the bios was delayed, because this occurs? How can I solve? The data in my note are:

Envy TouchSmart 17-j178ca , Rev: 1966-110

Produto F9M11UAR , Série [edited]

Motherboard(Placa Mãe) marca HANNSTAR 17SBGV2D-6050A2549801-MB-A02
Windows 10 Home 64bits

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Envy TouchSmart 17 Notebook. I understand that you getting issues while updating bios and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

Start with a hard reset to release any excessive static on the PC:

  • If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.

  • If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.

  • With the pogo through the wer off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.

  • With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.

  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

Attempt to reset or recover the existing BIOS (if the recent update was interrupted): Click here

(restoring BIOS on notebook: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_3932413-2337994-16)

Step 1: Verify the current BIOS version installed and the correct ROM Family SSID for your PC

Step 2: Find the BIOS updates

Step 3: Download and install the BIOS update

For more details: Click here

Let me know if that works.

Cheers.

Thank you very much Sandy.
1) I made the demagnetization
2) I did recover from an existing bios but did not recharge the good I had.
I noticed that I have at the moment a bios different from my note. The correct would be to show product number F9M11UAR # ABL but Bios Shows F7P58PA # ABG

Where is the saved Bios file saved? I have to do an update of Bios, but I would like to disconnect the SSD that is Windows and make the pendrive without depending on windows. Can I do with UEFI as instructed at https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00042629? Which option creates image of this new file on the pendrive? (Create Recovery or Copy)
After accepting the terms, it is not possible to select the USB drive. Do I have to manually copy the Swsetup folder to USB?
