Hy, I've got a HP-15-da0041ni and and surprisingly windows update updated my bios to  (Insyde F.53, 11/27/2025) and right after that turned impossible to turn on the laptop on battery, i turn it on and 10/30s after that it shuts off like there was a lack of power what isn't the case.

I tried to install the bios provided by the HP support (F.48 Rev.A, 05/07/2024) but it doesn't allow me to install it in place as it is a older version and when i tried the USB recovery method i got (The system bios recovery failed | Unable to open bios signature file).

Is there a solution for this? Adowngrade possibility?

Note: It works plugged in and if i remove the charger it stays on for 10s or up to 10min+. Don't know does it depends on!

  • But before that update it worked on battery as usual 4-5h backup.

Hi  @Weizy007,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I  understand how  this must feel especially since your laptop was working fine on battery before the BIOS update.

In the meantime, here are a few steps you can try:

1. Reset BIOS settings

Restart the laptop and press F10 to enter BIOS setup.

Look for an option like Restore Defaults or Load Setup Defaults, save changes, and exit. This ensures no settings are conflicting after the update.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

Disconnect the charger .

Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds.

Reconnect the battery and charger, then try powering on. This clears residual electrical charge and can sometimes resolve power issues.

3. Update Battery Drivers

In Windows, open Device Manager → expand Batteries.

Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery → select Uninstall device.

Restart the laptop; Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

4. Check HP Support Assistant

Run HP Support Assistant to see if there are any critical updates for power management or BIOS patches that might address this issue.

HP  restricts BIOS rollbacks (downgrades). This is primarily to maintain system security, prevent hardware damage, and ensure compatibility with new features. Also Kindly confirm if there was any hardware changes made on the unit.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.

Hi @Deep_World,

I'm glad to receive an answer for the issue I'm facing but suddenly I've tried all the options with the exception of the 2° point "Hard Reset" and I'll manage to perform it as soon as possible.

HP Support assistant Assistant says that my battery is in "normal condition" and everything is up to date.

Note: The issue remains!
