My computer is 11th Gen and that’s all I really know about it. It recently started blinking (on the caps lock) 3 long and 2 short. I immediately searched this up and tried all easy steps for at home. I hard reset, connected the HDMI, hit various keys to bring up the Bios or smthing. The power button has no light but the charger light is lit and so is the one on the right side. I have no idea what a lot of these terms mean and I need help on who to see or what to do. PLEASE

@plshelpnaomi, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

What the Blinking Means:

3 long, 2 short blinks = hardware issue (usually with memory).

What to Do Next:

Check the RAM:

Turn off the laptop.

Unplug the power and, if possible, remove the battery.

Open the memory compartment (look for instructions online for your model).

Remove the RAM sticks, clean the connectors, and then put them back in.

If you have more than one RAM stick, try testing them one at a time to see if one is bad.

Try HP BIOS Recovery:

Turn off the laptop.

Press and hold Windows key + B and then press the power button for 5 seconds.

Keep holding the Windows and B keys until you see the BIOS recovery screen.

Run Diagnostics:

Turn on the laptop and press F2 right away to run HP’s diagnostic tests.

This will tell you if there’s a hardware failure.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
