Whenever the Hard Disk Short DST test fails that indicates that the Hard Disk Drive has failed and that requires a replacement to resolve the issue

This issue could be due to Application or driver conflicts, virus issues, file corruptions due to incompatible applications, improper shutdowns, update failures due to conflicts, sudden power surges, if notebook is dropped etc..

HP will provide a replacement Hard Disk Drive if the Notebook warranty is Active, If not you need buy a SATA Hard Disk Drive from a retail shop nearby

Please make sure you are getting at least equal capacity as the original one in order to use Recovery Disks. If you need you can buy a larger, but not smaller capacity Hard Disk Drive. For example if you have a 500GB Hard Disk Drive you can upgrade it to 750GB Hard Disk Drive but not 320GB Hard Disk Drive

Please try the below shown troubleshooting steps once:

Step 01. Remove the battery and unplug the AC/Power Adapter

Step 02. Press and hold the Power button for more than 30 Seconds

Step 03. Plug in the AC/Power Adapter (leave the Battery out for now)

Step 04. Press the Power button and check if the Unit works normal

If the above mentioned steps does not help, then you can try reseating the Hard Drive on your Notebook

If the issue persists again please Contact HP if your HP Notebook is under warranty, HP would replace the Hard Disk Drive and provide you a Recovery media to restore factory operating system after replacement (if you've not yet created Recovery Discs/USB Media)

Note: Back up all the personal data to an external drive if it's possible. Otherwise you could connect the failed HDD via SATA to USB adapter with another PC or same PC after replacement of HDD & re-installation of OS and try copying /recovering the files. NO PC stated at all, no full MODEL !  1984 to now 10000 pcs..."notbooks less but VAST"

click laptop if BIOS dead click that.

http://pcdied.com/black-screen.html

that HP logo is (i think but seeing , id say different) ? is BIOS ok?

if that logo is the power one BIOS logo that means BIOS ROM has power

step 1, is battery out. (and keep it out until real causes are fixed if not this battery is shorted)

then push ESC, F2, F9 or F11 this proves BIOS IS OK OR NOT THIS IS FIRST aways.

PCs boot in sequencial order so we start with step 1, not WINDOWS ever. windoz is last.

my PC is ESC as most modern HP PC are. now.

power  on, hammer the ESC fast... see that> works best battery out. (hint batteries can SHORT)

got beep codes, no?

got keyboard flash codes, (caps lock LED see that dancing, yes, its telling you a code, read it) count them.

NO PC stated an e0009 is not a real model at all, these are, I cant guess harware ever, me no superman+xray...

i get zero hits world wide on that bad number.   why not just read the service tag, and say the real model number.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/products/laptops/pavilion-notebooks/

the PC when turned on since new shows this.

see those words,  they must be there, and means hit that key. now. 1 to 5 seconds at powerone. instant

my HP i can boot to 5 different media ports.  so if  all fail, what is that?

see, software is  just transient,, i can boot to VAST things.

given that fact we attack BIOS first. it must work so we can boot all those THINGS.

if one of the 5 media ports fails, then its that thing that is bad. only (eg HDD#0)

hitme.jpg

that is MY PC,  see those text words, they speak VOLUMES. logo? HP little.

next is my neutered tag  , see that 1250 us, there what is YOUR MODEL ???

the tag is on the bottom

or take out battery

and is in the battery well somewhere, find it.

post it, but not the serial , here. nor post bar codes.

every page in HP asks this question, endlessly,  near infinite asked, now, in forums.

and when you to your support page,  it ask there too.

some models have 50 sub models and there are NOT THE SAME.
