Good morning seniors.
Please, I am having issues with my system, It went off and refused to on and the charging port shows steady white light and doesn't go off, I tried updating the system BIOS using USB.
After that, it came on, and tried restarting properly.
And went back again.
Please, how can I resolve this?.

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
That sounds incredibly frustrating—especially after going through the BIOS update process and still ending up with a blank screen. The steady white charging light and repeating blank screen behavior suggest the system is powering but failing to complete POST (Power-On Self-Test), possibly due to a corrupted BIOS or hardware initialization issue.
Here are steps you can try to troubleshoot and possibly resolve this problem:
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the laptop and disconnect all peripheral devices.
- Remove the power adapter and, if possible, the battery.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain residual electrical charge.
- Reconnect the power adapter and battery (if removed), then try turning on the laptop again.
Check the Power Supply:
- Ensure the power adapter is working correctly. If possible, try using another compatible adapter to rule out any power supply issues.
Inspect the RAM Modules:
- If you are comfortable doing so, reseat the RAM modules.
- Power off the laptop, remove the RAM modules from their slots, and then reinsert them securely.
Reset the BIOS:
- Access the BIOS by pressing the appropriate key (usually F2, F10, Del, or Esc) immediately after turning on the laptop.
- Reset the BIOS settings to default to see if it resolves the issue.
Connect to an External Monitor:
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor using an HDMI or VGA cable to determine if the issue is with the built-in display.
- If the external monitor works, the laptop’s screen might be faulty.
BIOS Recovery:
- If you attempted a BIOS update and it didn’t complete successfully, try performing a BIOS recovery again.
- Follow the HP instructions for BIOS recovery using a USB drive to ensure it completes correctly.
Check for Error Codes:
- Pay attention to any beeping sounds or LED blink codes when starting the laptop, as they can indicate specific hardware issues.
Perform these steps with care, especially when dealing with internal components like RAM. If you're unsure about any of these procedures, consulting with a professional or authorized HP service center might be the safest option.
