I opened up my laptop, and it says that a Boot Device cannot be found and to "Please install an operating system on your hard disk." I have tried to test my hard drive and storage. When I have tested my Hard drive it could not find anything, and it said my storage passed. When I restart my laptop it tries to automatically repair, but nothing happens. As I have been trying certain things I have been able to login to my computer twice,  but after a little but of time it says your device ran into an issue and takes me back to the Boot Device Screen.

Hi @rando123,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are facing issues with the Boot Device Not Found error.

Restore BIOS default settings

  • To restore the BIOS default setting, open the BIOS Setup screen.
  • Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  • Press the power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the f10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  • On the BIOS Setup screen, press f9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  • Press f10 to Save and Exit.
  • Use the arrow keys to select Yes, and then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes.
  • Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

If you have performed all the steps from this document and still having issues, then the PC might need service.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
