Hi,
I'm trying to get a friends kids notebook back up and running, can anyone help?
Device displays black error screen when powered on:
"Boot Device not Found
Please install an operating system on your hard disk.
Hard Disk (3F0)"
If I change the boot settings to boot from USB, it no longer recognises by USB drive, I am unable to boot from this to reinstall the OS.
If I run system diagostics for a hard drive test I get:
"this system uses a flash device for primary storage.
To test this flash device, please install the HP UEFI Support Environment."
I'm not sure how to do this, but as I can't boot from USB anyway, its not much help.
Is there anything else to try, or is the flash drive dead? Notebook was running fine, did a reboot and got this error.
Have followed all the recommended troubleshooting such as power reset etc.

Hi
BIOS selection of Secure Boot for W10 can eliminate other devices, but if Legacy or turning off secure boot is an option, then I would and re-sequence the boot order to put the flash drive last.
Then try again and re-institute Secure Boot.
There are recovery OS's available that require downloading and flashing to USB.
