Hi @kikamora,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP ENVY x360 2-in-1 Laptop 14-fa0xxx is showing a “Boot Device Not Found” error when starting up. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Perform a hard reset
Turn the laptop off and disconnect the charger.
Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds, then reconnect power and turn the laptop back on.

Check BIOS boot order
Turn the laptop on and repeatedly press F10 to enter BIOS.
Under Boot Options, confirm the internal SSD or hard drive is listed first in the boot order.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
Turn the laptop on and press F2 repeatedly.
Run the Storage Test (Quick Test first, then Extensive Test) to check the drive health.

Load BIOS default settings
While in BIOS (F10), select Restore Defaults or Load Setup Defaults, then Save and Exit.
Incorrect BIOS settings can prevent the system from detecting the drive.

Check for a missing operating system
If diagnostics pass but the error remains, Windows may be corrupted or missing.
You can try System Recovery by pressing F11 during startup.

Reseat or check the internal storage (if comfortable)
If the storage test fails or the drive is not detected in BIOS, the internal SSD may be loose or failing.
This would require checking the hardware connection.

“Boot Device Not Found” usually means the system cannot detect the internal storage drive or the operating system on it.

I hope this helps.
