We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

If you're seeing a "Boot Device Not Found" error on your HP EliteBook, it typically means that the laptop cannot detect the operating system or boot files from any storage device. Here are some steps to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting:

  1. Restart the Laptop:

    • Sometimes, simply restarting the computer can resolve temporary glitches.
  2. Check Boot Order in BIOS/UEFI:

    • Restart the laptop and tap the Esc key to access the startup menu.
    • Press F10 to enter the BIOS/UEFI settings.
    • Go to the "Boot Order" or "Boot Options" menu.
    • Ensure that the hard drive is set as the primary boot device.
    • Save changes and exit the BIOS.
  3. Check Drive Connection (if accessible):

    • If you're comfortable opening your laptop, ensure the storage drive is properly connected.
    • Check for loose cables or improperly seated drives.
  4. Perform a Hard Reset:

    • Turn off the laptop, disconnect any connected peripherals, and remove the power adapter.
    • If possible, remove and reinsert the battery.
    • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power adapter and battery, then power on the laptop.
  5. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:

    • Restart and press Esc to access the startup menu.
    • Press F2 to run HP Hardware Diagnostics.
    • Perform a quick or extensive test on the hard drive to check for errors or failures.
  6. Check for Recovery Options:

    • If you have recovery media or a recovery partition, try accessing it to restore or repair your system.
    • Use the F11 key during startup to try accessing the HP Recovery Manager.
  7. Consider Data Backup:

    • If your drive is failing or inaccessible, consider using an external enclosure or a professional service to backup your data before attempting repairs.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
