Hi @ekamjeetsing,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP PC is showing the error “Boot Device Not Found”, it means the system is unable to detect the drive that contains your operating system. This can be caused by a variety of issues, from BIOS misconfiguration to hardware failure.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the PC.
  • Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power and try turning it on.

2. Check BIOS Boot Order

  • Turn on the PC and immediately press Esc repeatedly, then F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Go to the Boot tab.
  • Ensure your hard drive (e.g., SSD or HDD) is listed and set as the first boot device.
  • If it’s not listed, the drive may be disconnected or have failed.

3. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Turn on the PC and press Esc, then F2 to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the Hard Drive Test to check for physical issues.

4. Reseat the Drive (if comfortable)

  • If you're comfortable opening the case, reseat the SSD/HDD to ensure it’s properly connected.

5. Use Recovery Media

If the drive is detected but Windows won’t boot:

  • Use a Windows installation USB or an HP Recovery USB.
  • Boot from it and choose:
    • Repair your computer > Startup Repair
    • Or use Command Prompt to run:
  • bootrec /fixmbr
  • bootrec /fixboot
  • bootrec /scanos
  • bootrec /rebuildbcd

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
