Hi, I have tried all the suggestions from hp and ai but my computer still says boot device not found. Do I need to take it to a shop? Or buy a new one? It’s out of warranty

Hi:

Since I don't know what you have done, it's hard to say.

Have you tried making a bootable USB installation flash drive with the Microsoft Media creation tool and tried to reinstall Windows?

Download Windows 10

Download Windows 11

Have you run the hard drive diagnostics test (F2)?

Hi! I did the “laad the set up defaults” when I hit save, it just brought me back to the “boot device not found” page. I did f2 hard drive test and  it said, “not found”. I did the storage test and it said “no storage detected. “

Hi:

That doesn't sound good to me.

The drive may be completely dead.

The only free thing you can do would be to try installing Windows on the drive and if Windows can't find the drive, you will probably have to replace it with no guarantee it isn't something worse, or buy a new notebook.

Thank you! I figured as much. Ironically, it died the day after I graduated grad school! Guess it’s time for a new begining:) I really appreciate your help.
