Notebook was running normally
Now stuck on HP logo with rotating circle underneath
Note: All windows updates applied
Per my usual, boot up, ran CCleaner.
Started Chrome and attempted to clear browser cache.
I usually perform the above every morning.
Clear browser cache would not complete - gave it at least 15 minutes.
Removed power adapter and battery, held power on for 30 seconds.
Reinstalled battery and power adapter.
Started. Took a long time, but finally booted.
Brought up Norton 360, updated, performed short scan, no errors detected.
Shut down.
Powered up.
Here I am - 30 minutes of HP logo with rotating circle.
As would be expected, I NEED this notebook to work to complete real estate transaction.

Hi,
First, try performing HP diagnostics at boot and see if there are any hardware errors. It could be a problem with the Hard Drive.
Turn off the PC by holding the power button. Turn on PC and continously keep pressing ESC until startup menu appears and then press F2 to enter diagnostics. Try the fast test, or at least the hard drive test.
See if there are any hardware errors.
Let me know,
David

Thank you, David.
I forgot to mention in my post that I had run diagnostics early on.
Even so, to close this I'm going to mark it "solved".
Sadly, your reply does not qualify for margaritas ...
I only use this blog when stumped.
Somehow, a previous reply was lost.
When I had to leave to run errands, I left the notebook with HP logo and rotating circle.
I was gone about an hour and a half.
When I returned, it was up and ready for login.
Seems to be running normally.
Will discontinue using CCleaner, just in case, and rely on Windows Administrator disk cleanup.

You're welcome.
I am glad you have it up and running again. I recommend to always back up your important data so you have it if the need arises.
☹️I wanted those margaritas 😀
I would also recommend replacing the Hard Drive with an SSD, It would give a great boost in the everyday performance of the PC.
Take care,
David
