Hi @Sumsum_001,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The ACPI_BIOS_ERROR (Stop Code 0xA5) means Windows detected a problem with the system’s ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) implementation, usually caused by BIOS incompatibility or corruption. This often happens after updates, power interruptions, or incorrect BIOS settings.

Here’s how to fix it:

Step 1: Hard Reset

  1. Power off the laptop completely.
  2. Disconnect the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
  3. Hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power and try booting.

Step 2: Enter BIOS

  • Press Esc or F10 repeatedly during startup.
  • Once in BIOS:
    • Load Setup Defaults (usually under ExitLoad Defaults).
    • Save and exit.

Step 3: Update BIOS

This is the most effective fix for ACPI errors:

Step 4: Disable Fast Boot / Secure Boot Temporarily

  • In BIOS, disable Fast Boot and Secure Boot.
  • Save changes and restart.

Step 5: If Windows Still Fails

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
