@AlyceS, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your HP laptop. There are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the issue:

Hard Reset the Laptop: Turn off the laptop completely by pressing and holding the power button for at least 15 seconds. After waiting a bit, try turning it back on.

Check Power Button and Connections: Ensure the power button is not stuck. If the laptop has a removable battery, you might try removing it and then reinserting it after a few seconds.

External Devices: Disconnect any external devices (like USB drives or external hard drives) and try turning the laptop on again. Sometimes peripherals can cause boot issues.

Reset the AC Adapter: Unplug the AC adapter from the laptop and the outlet. Wait for a few seconds, and then reconnect it.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
