HP Recommended

I have a laptop issues I would like some help.  I have an old but great laptop, I have had it for some years now, its a HP Pavilion dv7. Am about 90% sure that the motherboard has become faulty.  When the battery has some charge the caps lock light stays on with the laptop being off and when I do switch the on laptop I can hear the fan working, the display is not working.  the F11/ mute is flashing.
