Hello @Francesca5

Dive deep into this "sleep and hibernate" thing read:

https://support.hp.com/bg-en/document/ish_3046046-2885219-16

My advice at this point, to be able to work with the notebook in the long run, is to completely deactivate the sleep and hibernate mode. Your device has a technical problem with it.

How old is the notebook? The CMOS battery usually lasts for many years.

I'm using this laptop since August 2019.
As I said few posts before, I do not have Hibernation mode active and about your last link:

  • keyboard already allowed to wake the computer;
  • all the Windows updates have been installed;
  •  Advanced options are just like your link suggests except the setting about metered connections (I've never used a metered connection and I will never have);
  • I run every day HP Support Assistant, so everything is up-to-date;
  • I improved "Power usage";
  • ServicesWindows Update already set as Manual.

So everything has already been set as the link suggests.
I'm asking for the last time because I think it's not clear: is there any link with the fact that I removed the battery?
In the first post I underlined that ... "After removing my lithium battery (that was a swollen lithium-ion battery, serious and unpredictable issue because this battery has just 465/1000 charge cycles, but this is not the point of my topic), my OMEN laptop, once started, shows a black screen where's said "The CMOS checksum is invalid. The CMOS will be reset to the default configuration and will be rebooted. Please check your BIOS setup options to see if they change. CMOS Reset (502)"
I'll say it clearer, I've never had any of these problems once using battery, which I can't use it anymore because it's dangerous.
Now I'm facing this issue while not having a battery, that's so hard to find because seems like that it's not on the market anymore.

Hello @Francesca5

Please replace the CMOS battery !

The model is not identical, but the instructions help to open.

Thanks again @Ub6424

Maybe I'm missing something, CMOS battery, like you said, is a CR2032 battery. Opening the case, I can't remember if I saw that. I made a research here on HP Community and I found this topic Solved: HP OMEN 15-dc1026tx CMOS Battery - HP Support Community - 8129724
    where this user seems to have my same problem. After reading all this topic, I get that maybe this CMOS battery is with battery in some models and this checksum error won't go away if there isn't genuine HP battery replacement and it's not so easy to find it in my country (Italy)

Hello @Francesca5

I want to know the product number (p/n) of your laptop and then I give you a link for the service manual ( if available )

Please open powershell console and send me output of the following command:

Get-WmiObject win32_computersystem | Select-Object SystemSKUNumber

Apologies for jumping in here...

In many modern HP computers, there is no "CMOS Battery" any more!  The main battery provides the voltage for the internal clock.

I was seeing the same error as the OP in an HP laptop I had lying around.  It only occurred when the laptop was unplugged.  I then knew the battery (main) was depleted.

Upon replacing the battery, the error disappeared.

Oh finally, thank you @WyreNut !!!
I really couldn't figure it out and I suspected that there wasn't any CMOS Battery because I opened my laptop case and there was no sign of CR2032 battery.

@Ub6424 here it's p/n: 4PK03EA#ABZ

I would like to know if there's some original replacement, I don't trust in compatible products, better be careful with batteries.

Hello @Francesca5

How are you ?

So, here you get the most important document:

Maintenance and Service Guide

I checked, it "looks" like there is no CMOS battery, like @WyreNut already mentioned.

Can we double check ? Please send detailed pictures of your notebook ( open case ).

Thanks for Maintenance and Service Guide.
When I'll open up my laptop, I'll post a photo (now I can't, I don't have any screwdrivers with me at work)

Hello @ub6424   !
As I promised, here it's a photo of my laptop. I removed the battery and I confirm there's no sign of CR2032 battery, so I suppose that @WyreNut is right , The main battery provides the voltage for the internal clock.
